November News
Submitted by Steve Wilhelm on Thu, Nov 5, 2009 at 1:37pmHey all!
I mentioned that I have have retained the services of a PR firm to help with getting Steve's Story some needed publicity and I wanted to share the review they wrote and are posting online on various websites. So following is what they put together!
------------------------------
Steve’s Story
A Life Unraveled and Reconstructed
Steve W. is a real person, who suffered a real addiction to alcohol, and for the first time in his adult life is clean, sober and ready to have a real life.
Short Story: Never Ever Bring This Up Again
Submitted by Steve Wilhelm on Thu, Oct 15, 2009 at 1:44amThis is the short story I submitted to Esquire magazine for their fiction writing contest. It didn't win. That's ok though, there will be other contests.
Enjoy!

“So tell me again how you did it,” Sharon said, as she brought in two glasses of champagne. We had just about finished packing for our trip and I was still excited about our new life together. I sat down on the bed and wondered why she was so fascinated about the details of what I had done.
October News
Submitted by Steve Wilhelm on Tue, Oct 13, 2009 at 7:09pmWell, here it is, October 13.
It's been a while since my last entry, so I will do my best to catch everybody up on things.
Today is my 3rd year anniversary at my current job at the hotel. I don't know whether that is something to celebrate or not, but I guess with the economy the way it is and with so many out there without jobs, I will say I am still employed. I have had many friends of mine who have been laid off and while they all did find employment again, it was very difficult for some of them.
May News - Late, But Here Nonetheless
Submitted by Steve Wilhelm on Fri, May 29, 2009 at 12:25amIt has been quite a while since my last post, back in February. A lot has happened, but then, not a lot has happened. Funny how that works.
I went to Boise for Dad’s service, which was very nice, a tremendous tribute to a great man, well loved and respected by so many more people than I had ever known. I think the most touching moment for me was when we left the church for the reception, we were led out by someone playing Amazing Grace on the bagpipes. I had pretty much retained my composure throughout the day until that moment… a very touching afternoon, I miss Dad every day.
My Dad
Submitted by Steve Wilhelm on Mon, Feb 2, 2009 at 9:13amMy dad passed away this morning. He just turned 85. Dad was a great man!
I am sad, but also relieved, as Dad had been ready to pass for the past couple of months, and we were really surprised that he hung on for as long as he did. Old age and the usual complications that come with it were what he had.
I wish I had gotten to know him better in my adult life. But I was too selfish and too caught up in my own life and stupidity to realize what I now know that I will never get back: Time with my Father.
January News
Submitted by Steve Wilhelm on Wed, Jan 21, 2009 at 7:29pmWell, better late than never, here is January News!
An address to Oprah was found, and earlier this month, I sent a copy of my book to her at Harpo Studios. Do I have any assurances she will read the book, much less actually receive it herself? No, none at all. But I have known for a long time: Nothing ventured, nothing gained. You can't win the lottery if you don't buy the ticket. I could go on and on. So now all I can do is keep the fingers crossed and hope and wait. Let us all bow our heads.
December News
Submitted by Steve Wilhelm on Wed, Dec 17, 2008 at 10:38amHello Everyone!
December 2nd came and went with a whimper, it seems.
They hadn't told me that there would be fireworks, all they said was that it they always call 3 months after the date they publish the book is the date they call "the Official Release Date."
A number of people have sent emails to the Oprah website, and I am grateful to them. I have searched her site for an address so that I could mail my book to her, unsuccessful so far. But I will continue.

It is now safely after the Election and now we can safely surf the TV channels without being confronted with endless campaign advertising... now we can be bombarded with the Holiday ads! I saw my first Christmas advertisement the day before Halloween, the earliest Ever!!
More OnLine Listings for "Steve's Story"
Submitted by Steve Wilhelm on Thu, Oct 16, 2008 at 7:53amThe book is still on Amazon.com! Now there are "16 New and Used" copies available!!
That was very cool to find out! But "used?" Weird, especially since the book was basically just released! But what a great feeling to have it available there as well! I have ordered my own copy from Amazon as well as Barnes and Noble, and both arrived well within a week from the day I ordered, so I now know that I have had at least two copies of my book sold (even if both were to myself! Haha!)
